Served as football captain and quarterback of the Little 16 Conference champions. He also handled the team’s punting and placekicking duties. His 11 varsity letters encompassed baseball, basketball, track & field and football. He went onto enjoy great success as a coach at the high school level, leading his St. Petersburg, Fla. teams to state titles in football, basketball and track. Officials in the Florida city paid special tribute to the distinguished IC graduate by naming a high school athletic field in his honor.
