Hall of Fame
Among a small handful of Illinois College student-athletes to win the William J. Downer award as the top male athlete two times (2004 and 2005). He lettered four seasons each in football and baseball and was chosen a total of five times to All-Midwest Conference teams in those two sports. Was voted to the All-Midwest Region in baseball in 2002 after setting a single-season school record (since broken) for most RBIs. Devening finished his gridiron career as one of the top receivers in school history and set records for single-season and career receptions that have since been broken. He also served as team captain in both sports.
