The 1961 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Illinois College lettered in track during his college days and his efforts include a time of 9.9 seconds in the 100-yard dash. He is credited with raising the need for preventative medical care as an integral part of many high school and college athletic programs, and he was honored by the Illinois High School Association in 1988 for his work with administrators, coaches and athletes. Dr. Green has been on the IC Board of Trustees and is a past volunteer for the Illinois Prairie State Games.
