The arrival of Becca Thorne Lindstrom ignited a period of unprecedented success on the volleyball court and culminated in the first NCAA postseason tournament bid for an Illinois College women’s program. The 1995 graduate and two-time captain earned MVP honors in 1993 and 1994, and was voted to the American Volleyball Coaches Association all-region team in 1994 after a season that saw her average 4.33 kills, 4.03 digs and 2.00 per set for a Lady Blues team that competed in the NCAA Division III national tournament. Thorne Lindstrom also garnered academic all-America honors and was a three-time recipient of All-Midwest Conference first-team honors.
