GRINNELL, Iowa -- Illinois College's
Melvin Hodge has been named the Midwest Conference Men's Field Performer of the Week, the league announced today.
A senior from Moro, Ill., Hodge broke his own school record, which he set the previous week, and won the hammer throw with a toss of 60.39 meters (198' 1") at the Greenville Select Meet on Saturday. That mark currently ranks second nationally.
This is the third consecutive week and fourth time in his career that Hodge has won the league's weekly honor.
IC will be in action this weekend when it travels to the Augustana Meet of Champions in Rock Island, Ill.
