Day 1 Results
GRINNELL, Iowa – The Illinois College women's track and field squad had three champions during the opening day of the Midwest Conference Indoor Championships on Friday at the Grinnell Fieldhouse.
IC is currently in fourth place in the team standings with 43 points. Grinnell is the leader with 72.
The Lady Blues had two champions in the field events and a track relay squad.
IC's 4x200-meter relay squad of
Haley Garrett,
Fynesse Jones,
McKenzie Murray, and
Aleese Trimingham captured the conference title while setting a meet record with a time of 1:43.99.
The field event champions were
Riley Gardner in the high jump and
Deja Anderson in the long jump. Gardner cleared 1.65 meters to win her title while Anderson leaped 5.39 meters for hers.
IC's other top five finals finish on the day came from
Delanie Teno in the shot put. She finished third with a mark of 11.70 meters.
