Millikin Alumni Invite Results
JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College men's track and field squad opened the outdoor portion of the 2024-25 season by competing in a pair of meets over the weekend.
The Blueboys split the team with a group traveling to the Redbird Challenge at Illinois State and another squad participating in the Millikin Alumni Invite.
Redbird Challenge
Dylan Doss picked up where he left off during the indoor season, winning the 100 meters (10.52 seconds), the 200 meters (21.07 seconds), and taking fifth in the long jump (6.66 meters).Â
Adam Hernandez broke the tape in the 400 meters, winning the event in 56.96 seconds, while
Austin Robinson was fourth in 1:03.31. Hernandez also took fifth in the 110-meter hurdles (15.61 seconds).Â
IC's
Melvin Hodge brought home fifth place in the hammer throw (52.38 meters).
Robby Biesenthal was seventh in the 5,000 meters (16:21.31) with
Devin Boggs finishing 10th (16:38.07).
The Blueboy relay 4 x 100 relay squad of
Jaden Saunders,
Carter Wasson,
Ki'on Carson, and
Blake Larson finished third in 43.62 seconds.
Millikin Alumni Invite
Deon Rodgers was the lone IC champion, winning the discus with a toss of 43.46 meters.
Kyle Russell finished fourth at 39.57 meters.
IC got a runner-up finish from
Saul Hernandez in the shot put (14.27 meters) while Rodgers was third (13.33 meters) and Hodge fifth (12.66 meters).
Mark Flores brought home third place in the javelin (42.36 meters) as did
Griffin Martin in the hammer throw (41.87 meters).
Up Next
IC will host the annual True Blue Invite on Friday at England Stadium. Field events begin at 1:00 p.m. with running events starting at 4:00 p.m.
