Final Results
MT. VERNON, Iowa – It was a historic day as the Illinois College men's track and field team won the first Midwest Conference Outdoor Championship in program history on Saturday at Ash Park.
IC led the team standings for much of the meet and cruised to the title with 155 points. Cornell was second with 127 and Grinnell third with 119.
The Blueboys'
Deon Rodgers was named the 2026 Field Athlete of the Year, and the IC staff of head coach
Dirk Doehring and assistant coaches
Anthony Flores,
Tayvonne Landry,
Rylan Hynek, and
Ashley Drake earned the 2026 Coaching Staff of the Year award.
Kani Carson led the team to the title on Saturday, winning a pair of events. He took the 100 meters in 10.57 seconds and followed that by winning the 200 meters in 21.26 seconds.
The Blueboys also got a title from
Adam Hernandez in the 110-meter hurdles as he broke the tape in a school-record 14.36 seconds. IC's final champion on the day was
Jacob Kollman, who won the triple jump with a leap of 13.76 meters.
The 4x100-meter relay team of
Kani Carson,
Ki'on Carson,
Blake Larson, and Stimler captured the conference crown in 41.41 seconds.
Sam Stimler was the runner-up to Carson in the 200 meters (21.67 seconds) and finished third in the 100 meters (10.75 seconds). Hernandez also took second in the 400-meter hurdles (55.24 seconds).
In the field events, Rodgers was second in the shot put (15.47 meters) while
Saul Hernandez was third (15.22 meters).
Ben Replogle placed third in the javelin (49.35 meters) while
Austin Missey was fifth in the triple jump (12.87 meters).
