Blueboys Run Win Streak to 16 with Dual Sweep

JACKSONVILLE, Ill.
– The Illinois College men's swimming team posted a pair of dual wins on Saturday at the Coultas Natatorium.

IC swamped Beloit, 202-36, and rolled past North Central, 162-87. The Blueboys improved to 6-0 on the season and have now won 16 straight duals dating back to last season.

The Blueboys had bookend relay victories on the day. The foursome of Nathen Trachta, Scottie Nicotra, Lucas Sullens, and Eli Eberle opened the day with a win in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:44.36. Nicotra, Gavin Rasmusen, Sullens, and Eberle closed the day by winning the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:33.77.

IC won eight individual events on the day. Cade Emerick won both the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:30.30) and the 100-yard freestyle (55.49). Eberle took the 50-yard breaststroke (28.25 seconds) and the 50-yard freestyle (22.59). Rasmusen touched the wall first in both the 100-yard butterfly (57.40 seconds) and the 50-yard butterfly (25.75 seconds).

Nicotra won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:51.41 and John Masiliunas won the 50-yard backstroke in 26.60 seconds to round out the victories for IC.

IC's seniors Xaiver Applegate and Trachta were honored prior to the start of the tri-meet.

The Blueboys will take a break for the Christmas holiday before traveling to the Illinois Christmas Tri-Meet on January 16th at 6:00 p.m.
