GRINNELL, Iowa – The Illinois College men's swimming team opened Day one of the 2025-26 Midwest Conference Championships on Thursday at the Russell K. Osgood Pool on the campus of Grinnell.
The 800-yard freestyle relay team of
Scottie Nicotra,
Lucas Sullens,
John Masiliunas, and
Nathen Trachta opened the day with a fourth-place finish. Together, the group recorded the second-fastest time in program history with a 7:06.23 showing.
Nicotra led off the relay by clocking the second-best 200-yard freestyle time in program history (1:43.07).
Later in the day, the 200-yard medley relay squad of Masiliunas,
Scott Sosnowski,
Gavin Rasmusen, and
Sean Pugh finished fifth in a time of 1:40.50
