RIPON, Wis. – A pair of freshman captured individual titles to highlight day two for the Illinois College men's track and field team's performance at the annual Midwest Conference Indoor Championships which concluded on Saturday at The Field House on the campus of Ripon.
The Blueboys finished fifth in the team standings with 93 points. Ripon won the title with 137.5 points.
IC freshman
Dylan Doss captured the title in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.13 seconds while classmate
Adam Hernandez was the champion of the 60 meter hurdles in 8.68.
Doss had company in the 200, as
Carter Wasson was fifth in 22.61 seconds and
DJ Williams sixth in 22.65 seconds. Like Doss, Hernandez was joined by a pair of teammates in the 60 meter hurdles as
Jackson Lee was fourth in 8.86 seconds and
Jamie Hendrix seventh in 9.10 seconds.Â
The 4x400 meter relay team of
DJ Williams,
Carter Wasson, Hernandez, and Doss finished second in 3:24.48. Doss concluded his weekend with a fifth place showing in the 60 meter dash with a time of 6.99 seconds. He was joined in the final by
Jaden Saunders (6th in 7.14) and Wasson (7th in 7.17).
Williams also posted an impressive performance in the 400 meters, finishing second in 51.09 seconds.
The field events were highlighted by the weight throw duo of
Xander Moushon who was fifth with a toss of 16.02 meters and
Deon Rodgers who was seventh at 15.29 meters.
The distance medley relay team of
Elgin Scherff, Aaron Rodriquez,
Caden Dettmer,
Devin Boggstook sixth in 11:10.21.
