MONMOUTH, Ill. –
Nathen Trachta was a double winner for the Illinois College men's swimming team at the Monmouth Invite on Saturday.
The Blueboys finished third against an extremely competitive field.
Trachta won titles in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:53.99 and followed that performance by capturing the 500-yard freestyle in 5:20.22
Eli Eberle posted a pair of second place finishes in the 100-yard butterfly (54.63) and 100-yard freestyle (50.56).
John Masiliunas finished third in the 100-yard backstroke in 59.79.
IC had a pair of relay teams record third place finishes as well. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of
Tim DeYong,
Scott Sosnowski, Eberle, and Trachta recorded a time of 3:32.68 while Masiliunas,
Cooper Meyer, Eberle and Trachta had a 1:43.18 in the 200-yard medley relay.
Meyer also finished fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke, touching the wall in 1:06.61
