GREENVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College men's and women's track and field teams competed over the weekend in the Greenville Select Invitational.
The Lady Blues earned six event wins as a team on the day.
Carson Beyers would take first place in the pole vault clearing a height of 8' 6.25".
Elizabeth Bowns would take first in the hammer throw with a mark of 149' 00".
In the running events, the Lady Blues 4x100-meter relay team of
Andrea Hyde,
Kayla Hearon,
Olivia Molette, and
Lakeida Nichols were able to earn a first place finish with a time of 48.94. Hyde would go on to finish first in the 100-meter dash (12.38) and the 200-meter dash (26.18).
Kristina Hilmes earned a first place finish for the Lady Blues in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:10.01.
The Blueboys were able to record some impressive finishes as well.
Dakota Stevens earned a second place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.30.
Jack Douglas finished fourth in the 100-meter dash with an impressive time of 11.20.
In the field events the Blueboys were represented by
CJ Hanna with a fourth place finish in the shot put (40' 2.25") and
Gavin Raines with a third place finish in the high jump (6' 2.75").
Both the men's and women's teams will compete this week in the Drake Relays on Thursday, 4/22, Friday, 4/23, and Saturday, 4/24.
