Men's and Women's Track and Field Compete at Wash U Invitational

ST. LOUIS, Mo.- The Illinois College men's and women's track and field teams traveled to St. Louis for the weekend to compete in the Washington University Invitational. The Lady Blues were able to earn a second place finish out of four teams with four first place and three second place individual event wins. The Blueboys finished fourth in the meet out of four teams with one first place and one second place individual event wins. 

Elizabeth Bowns was able to take first place in the hammer throw with a mark of 44.66 meters. Olivia Molette would earn a first place finish as well in the log jump with a mark of 5.46 meters. Andrea Hyde was able to earn two first place finishes in the 100-meter dash (12.31) and the 200-meter dash (26.51). 

The Lady Blues earned three second place finishes in the throwing events. Carson Beyers finished second in the javelin with a mark of 24.56 meters. Sydney Kuper earned second in the hammer throw (38.42 meters) and Bowns finished second in the shot put (11.45 meters).

On the men's side, Illinois College would have a great showing in the throwing events. Dalton West would earn a first place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 41.98 meters with CJ Hanna finishing right behind him in the same event with a mark of 38.94 meters.

The IC track and field teams will compete next in the Bearcat Classic at McKendree University on Friday, 4/2 at 10:00 AM.
