Final Results
JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College women's track and field team boasted five event winners, including one who set a school record, at the IC Thursday Throwdown at England Stadium on Thursday.
The Lady Blues had two winners (with three titles) on the track in
Aleese Trimingham, who had won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.55 seconds, and
Haley Garrett, who broke the tape in both the 100 meters in 12.17 seconds and the 200 meters in 25.24 seconds.
IC's other event winner on the day came in the field events, where
Riley Gardner soared to the high jump title as she cleared a school-record 1.65 meters, and
Kera Martin was tops in the shot put with a mark of 8.78 meters.
The Lady Blues also had top finishers in field events.
Delanie Teno placed third in the hammer throw (43.70 meters), with
Natalie Hasting finishing fourth (43.55 meters).
Keyleigh Thomas placed fourth in the javelin (35.22 meters) while
Elaina Manuel was right behind Thomas in fifth (30.72 meters).
Fynesse Jones grabbed fourth place in the long jump (5.04 meters), and
Deniyah Lockman rounded out IC's jump standouts, placing third in the triple jump with a leap of 10.38 meters. In the discus,
Ellie Bartling finished second with a toss of 36.47 meters while
Natalie Hasting placed third (36.01 meters).
IC had a strong day on the track as well.
Morgan Carrino ran to a second-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeple chase (13:57.68).
McKenzie Murray placed second in the 100 meters with a time of 12.58 seconds, and
Kami Rhoades placed third in 12.66 seconds. Murray also took second in the 200 meters (25.64 seconds), Trimingham was third (25.84 seconds), and Jones fifth (26.16 seconds).
