JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College women's track and field squad opened the outdoor portion of the 2026 season with the Lady Blues competing in two meets.
A portion of the squad traveled to Normal, Ill., for the Joyce Morton-Kief Invitational, while another part of the team ventured to Decatur, Ill., for the Big Blue Outdoor Opener.

Aleese Trimingham had the highest individual finishes for the Lady Blues. She took second in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:05.65 and added a fourth-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.74.
The 4x100-meter relay team of
McKenzie Murray,
Haley Garrett,
Fynesse Jones, and
Deja Anderson placed fourth with a time of 48.77.
Big Blue Outdoor Opener
The Lady Blues crowned one champion on the day as
Keyleigh Thomas won the javelin with a throw of 38.83 meters.
Elaina Manuel was fifth in the event with a mark of 32.62 meters.
Ellie Bartling was fourth in the shot put at 11.78 meters while
Delanie Teno was fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 42.17 meters.
On the track,
Caroline Peters placed fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:29.01 while
Macie Lierly was fifth in the 100 meters in 13.55 seconds.
Up Next
The Lady Blues will host the IC Thursday Throwdown at England Stadium on Thursday. Field events begin at 11:00 a.m. with running events slated to start at 1:00 p.m.
