GRINNELL, Iowa – The Illinois College men's track and field squad finished third at the annual Midwest Conference Indoor Championships on Saturday at the Grinnell Fieldhouse.
IGRINNELL, Iowa – The Illinois College men's track and field squad finished third at the annual Midwest Conference Indoor Championships on Saturday at the Grinnell Fieldhouse.
IC finished the championships with 114.5 points. Grinnell won the team title with 130 points.
Individually, the Blueboys'
Melvin Hodge was named the 2026 Men's Outstanding Field Performer.
The Blueboys had two individuals, and a relay squad win conference titles during Saturday's action.Â
On the track,
Adam Hernandez won the 60-meter hurdles with a season-best 8.35-second effort. He was joined in the top three by
Kani Carson, who took third in 6.935 seconds.
Hernandez and Carson then teamed with
Drew Cushman and
Simeon Smith to win the 4x400-meter relay in 3:22.61.
IC also had a champion in the field events as Hodge won the weight throw with a toss of 18.85 meters. He was joined in the top five by teammates
Deon Rodgers, who was second at 17.71 meters, and
Griffin Martin, who took fourth at 16.43 meters.
Jacob Kollman was the runner-up in the triple jump with a leap of 13.66 meters, while
Dylan Humphrey was fourth at 12.23 meters.
Camden Pierce rounded out the Blueboys field events with a fifth-place finish in the pole vault, clearing 3.3 meters.

A group of Blueboys will compete in the NCAA Last Chance Meet on Friday and Saturday in Waverly, Iowa.
