Final Results
JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – Illinois College's
Jaden Saunders won the long jump to highlight the Hilltop Classic on Friday at King Fieldhouse.
Saunders took the title with a leap of 6.86 meters.
The Blueboys also had a pair of runner-up finishes on the night in
Blake Larson, who was second in the 60 meters (7.177 seconds), while
Sam Stimler was second in the 200 meters (22.96 seconds).
Larson was joined in the 60 meters by
Drew Farnsworth (third in 7.179 seconds) and
Ki'on Carson (fourth in 7.19 seconds). Stimler had company in the 200 meters from
Simeon Smith (third in 23.03 seconds) and
Drew Cushman (fifth in 23.36 seconds).
Along with Saunders in the field events, IC had
Melvin Hodge place second in the weight throw (18.52 meters) while
Deon Rodgers was third (17.72 meters).
Alex Rood rounded out the top field event finishers for IC with a fourth-place showing in the shot put (14.87 meters).

The Blueboys will participate in the annual Midwest Conference Indoor Championships on Friday and Saturday in Grinnell, Iowa. Action begins on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
