IC Piles Up Wins in Busy Week of Conference Play

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – Illinois College Esports packed a full week of competition into five days, competing across multiple titles in NECC and MVEC play and coming away with several key victories.

IC opened the week Monday with two strong performances. In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (MVEC), Illinois College swept St. Ambrose 2-0, responding to early pressure in Game 2 to secure the comeback and close out the match. Later that night in NECC Valorant action, IC defeated Widener 2-0, taking Bind 13-7 and Pearl 13-3 in one of the team's most complete showings of the season.

On Tuesday, Illinois College added a 2-1 NECC SSBU rivalry win over Rockford. After splitting the first two games, the match came down to a decisive Game 3, where Jake Petrovich delivered in the clutch to seal the series.

Wednesday brought two matchups against St. Ambrose. IC fell 0-3 in NECC Overwatch play (statistics were unavailable) and later dropped a 4–1 Rocket League series. After responding with a Game 2 shutout to even momentum, Illinois College came up short in three tightly contested games to close out the night.

Illinois College picked up a forfeit win over Cornell in SSBU on Thursday.

Illinois College closed things out Friday on a high note, sweeping the University of Saint Francis 3-0 in NECC Overwatch play. Meryn Davis led the effort with a career-best 90 eliminations, while the lineup showed depth across all roles to secure the road victory.
