JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College esports team split a pair of conference matchups Monday evening, sweeping Coe College in MVEC Super Smash Bros. Ultimate action before falling to Mount Vernon Nazarene University in NECC Valorant play.

Illinois College delivered a dominant 2-0 victory over Coe College in MVEC competition.
Game 1 was a complete team effort, as every Blueboy won their matchup to secure a 6-0 result. Adam Byrd, Devin Ussery, and Julian Luaders each earned 3-2 victories, while Jake Petrovich closed the sweep with a 3-0 win.
Game 2 ended in a 6-1 decision. Adam (3-1), Julian (3-0), and Jake (3-2) remained perfect on the night, while Alex Rhoades narrowly fell 2-3 in a tightly contested set.
The match also marked a milestone for Julian, who recorded his 200th regular season KO. He now holds 250 total career KOs, just ahead of Jake at 249.

Later in the evening, Illinois College dropped a 0-2 decision to Mount Vernon Nazarene University in NECC Valorant action.
The Blues fell 6-13 on Haven before battling to a 10-13 loss on Bind. MVNU consistently found early picks and capitalized in key rounds to secure the conference victory.
