ST. LOUIS, MO. – Illinois College freshman
Macie Petropoulos has earned her second SLIAC Women's Golf Player of the Week honor this season, the league announced today.
The Springfield, Illinois native finished solo second at the Fighting Scot Fall Invite this past weekend, posting a 36-hole total of 153, ranking fourth all-time in Illinois College history for a 36-hole score. Her final-round 75 marked the ninth-lowest single round in Lady Blue history.
Petropoulos' strong performance helped lead the Lady Blues to a top-three team finish and the program's tenth-lowest 36-hole team total on record. Through five rounds this season, the freshman holds a scoring average of 77.8.
Illinois College returns to competition this weekend at the Midwest Region hosted by Benedictine University in Kansasville, Wisconsin.
