JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – Former Illinois College standout
Cooper Meyer has been named an assistant coach for the men's and women's swimming program, it was announced by Head Coach Chris Sykes.
"Cooper strongly admires this team, its achievements, and future potential," Sykes said. "As an athlete, he went above and beyond to make sure this team was successful. As a member of this program, he was a disciplined student-athlete and an amazing leader. As his coach, I am very proud of his accomplishments both in the water and on the diving board, and now I am equally proud to have him join us in the role of assistant coach."
Meyer wrapped up his career for the Blueboys last year as one of the most decorated student-athletes in program history. A two-time All-Midwest Conference selection in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving in both his junior and senior seasons, he was also a driving force in helping IC post an undefeated regular season dual record last season. Upon completion of his career, Meyer holds both school records for 3-meter diving.
Cooper earned his degree as a double major in business & sports management from IC last Spring.
