JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College men's track and field split up and posted some impressive efforts on Friday.
A portion of the squad competed at the Drake Relays while a group of throwers took part in the Millikin Friday Night Invite.
Highlighting the day in Des Moines was the 4x200-meter relay team of
Dylan Doss,
Adam Hernandez,
Blake Larson, and
Jaden Saunders, who finished sixth in a time of 1:27.60.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Saunders,
Sam Stimler, Larson, and Doss took 29th in 43.47 seconds.
Doss also competed as an individual in the 400 meters and finished 14th in 48.08 seconds.
In Decatur, IC crowned three champions.
Melvin Hodge took the title in the hammer throw with a toss of 50.29 meters.
Deon Rodgers took first in the discus with a mark of 44.93 meters, and
Saul Hernandez was tops in the shot put at 14.35 meters.
Xander Moushon took second in the discus (45.84 meters), and
Kyle Russell was ninth (34.91 meters). Russell also finished fifth in the discus (38.50 meters).
