GRINNELL, Iowa – Illinois College's Jayln Patterson has been named to the Midwest Conference All-Conference Second Team, as announced by the league today.
Patterson, a junior from Plainfield, Illinois, earns all-conference honors for the first time in her career. She finished the season ranked ninth in the conference in scoring, averaging 12.8 points per game. She also placed third in the conference in field goal percentage, shooting an impressive .472 for the season.
In addition to being a top scorer for the Lady Blues, Patterson was a key defensive player, recording 32 steals and 22 blocks. Her shot-blocking ability earned her a spot in the Illinois College record books for both blocks in a career and blocks in a single season. She also set a new career high in scoring, posting 32 points in a crucial victory over Monmouth, tying for the third-most points in a game in program history.
As she enters her senior season, Patterson will remain a vital part of the Lady Blues as they look to build on their late-season success.
