GRINNELL, Iowa – Illinois College's
Jayln Patterson has been named the Midwest Conference Women's Basketball Performer of the Week, the league announced today.
This marks the first Performer of the Week honor of Patterson's career and the first for the Lady Blues since
Ashlyn Wightman earned the recognition at this time last year.
Patterson averaged 22.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game as the Lady Blues went 2-0 for the week, securing an 86-68 road win against Monmouth and a 72-67 home victory over Lawrence. In the win at Monmouth, Patterson delivered a career-high 32 points, shooting 10-of-18 from the field and 10-of-12 from the free-throw line, while also contributing four rebounds. In Saturday's upset over the Vikings, she recorded 13 points and a game-high nine rebounds.
Patterson and the Lady Blues will return to action on Tuesday, February 11, when they take on Grinnell College at 5:30 p.m. at home in Sherman Gymnasium.
