Millikin Alumni Invite Results
JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College women's track and field squad opened the outdoor portion of the 2024-25 season by competing in a pair of meets over the weekend.
The Lady Blues split the team with a group traveling to the Redbird Challenge at Illinois State and another squad participating in the Millikin Alumni Invite.
Redbird Challenge
Aleese Trimingham led the IC contingent by recording a pair of top-eight finishes on the day. She finished sixth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:07.91) and was eighth in the 100-meter hurdles (15.05 seconds).
IC's
Haley Garrett was seventh in the 200 meters (25.26 seconds), while
Morgan Carrino finished eighth in the 5,000 meters (22:05.38).
Brooke Oakley rounded out the IC top 10 individual finishes by taking 10th in the high jump, clearing 1.50 meters.
The 4x100-meter relay team of
McKenzie Murray,
Fynesse Jones, Garrett, and
Mady Salisbury was fifth in 52.14 seconds.
Millikin Alumni Invite
Natalie Hasting was IC's lone champion, winning the hammer throw (39.29 meters), while Delane Teno was second (38.78 meters),
Leslie Earles was fourth (37.38 meters), and
Lindsey Ruff fifth (33.77 meters).
IC's
Keyleigh Thomas finished second in the javelin with a throw of 39.99 meters while
Hannah Claghorn did the same in the 5,000 meters (24.19.38).
The Lady Blues got third-place finishes from
Caroline Peters in the 800 meters (2:33.60) while
Abby Love was fifth (2:35.91). Â Ruff took third in the shot put (11.02 meters) while Hasting was fourth (10.85 meters), and Earles fifth (10.52 meters). Hasting also took third in the discus (33.30 meters).
Up Next
IC will host the annual True Blue Invite on Friday at England Stadium. Field events begin at 1:00 p.m. with running events starting at 4:00 p.m.
