JACKSONVILLE, Ill. –
Brooke Oakley and
Haley Garrett were both a part of two victories for the Illinois College women's track and field team at the annual Dr. Jim Green Invite on Saturday inside King Fieldhouse.
Oakley, a senior from Warrensburg, Ill., won the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.22 and then teamed with Garrett,
Fynesse Jones, and
Deja Anderson to break the tape first in the 4x200-meter Relay, posting a time of 1:46.27. Garrett, the Midwest Conference Track Performer of the Week last week, won the 200-meter dash in 26.23.
The Lady Blues also earned a victory in the Distance Medley Relay as the team of
Morgan Carrino,
Kami Rhoades,
Abby Love, and
Caroline Peters finished first in 14:07.37, the fifth-fastest time in program history.
IC also got top-five finishes from
Aleese Trimingham, who was fourth in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.32 seconds while Anderson was fourth in the 60-meter dash in 8.09 seconds and Garrett fifth in 8.10 seconds.
In the field events,
Maddie Benson finished third in the pole vault, clearing 3.25 meters while
Natalie Hastings took fifth in the weight throw, posting a mark of 14.13 meters. IC also finished 3-4-5 in the shot put.
Leslie Earles was third (11.21 meters),
Lindsey Ruff was fourth (11.17 meters), and Hastings fifth (10.92 meters).
