Boggs, Doss Set Records at Grinnell Invite

GRINNELL, Iowa
– Devin Boggs and Dylan Doss each had record days to help the Illinois College men's track and field squad finish fourth at the Grinnell Invitational on Saturday at the Grinnell Field House.

The Blueboys scored 81 points and finished fourth in the 11-team standings.

Doss was a triple winner on the day, taking the long jump with a leap of 6.89 meters. He then won the 60-meter dash in 6.84 seconds and followed with a victory in the 200-meter dash in 21.51. Both of his times were school records, and his 200-meter time also set the new standard for the Grinnell Field House.

Boggs broke his own school record by clocking a 16.07.04 effort in the 5,000 meters. Robby Biesenthal recorded a time of 16:16.81 in the same event, the third-fastest time in school history.

The Blueboys got third-place finishes from Adam Hernandez in the 60-meter hurdles (8.61 seconds) and Jacob Kollman in the triple jump (12.04 meters). Deon Rodgers was fourth in the shot put (13.81 meters). Jaden Saunders rounded out the top five finishers for IC with a fifth-place showing I the long jump (6.36 meters).
