BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois College women's track and field team crowned three champions at the Illinois Wesleyan First Chance Meet on Friday at the Shirk Center Indoor Track.
IC had two winners in the field events, led by
Natalie Hasting in the weight throw and
Riley Gardner in the high jump. Hasting recorded the second-best throw in school history with a toss of 15.34 meters. Gardner cleared 1.66 meters, which is also the second-best mark in program annals.
On the track,
Aleese Trimingham won the 60-meter hurdles in 9.14 seconds. Her time was the second-fastest in IC history.
Along with Hasting in the weight throw, IC got a second-place showing from
Delanie Teno (14.29 meters) while
Kevlynn DeJaynes was third (14.14 meters). Teno took second in the shot put (10.66 meters) with
Kasyden Williams in fifth (10.07 meters).
Deja Anderson rounded out the top five finishes in the field events for the Lady Blues with a fifth-place showing in the long jump (5.50 meters).
Along with winning the 60-meter hurdles, Trimingham was fourth in the 200 meters (26.62 seconds).
Haley Garrett also recorded a pair of runner-up finishes in the 60 (7.80 seconds - the fifth-fastest time in program history) and 200-meter (26.57 seconds) events. Anderson also took fourth in the 60-meter dash (8.06 seconds).
Rounding out the evening for the Lady Blues was the trio of runners who finished 2-3-4 in the 3,000 meters.
Bailey Downing was second (11:57.03), with
Caroline Peters third (12:03.74), and
Morgan Carrino fourth (12:57.24).

The Lady Blues will compete again on January 24th when they host the IC Snowbird Invite inside the King Fieldhouse at 10:00 a.m.
