GRINNELL, Iowa – Three members of the Illinois College volleyball team earned All-Conference recognition following an impressive regular season. Senior Laura Kaiser was named to the First Team, while seniors Haylie Orton and Summer Brandis earned Second Team honors.
Kaiser, a senior from Chatham, Illinois, ranked eighth in the conference in hitting percentage at .291 and ninth in blocks per set with 0.69, totaling 20 blocks during conference play.
Orton, a senior from Mahomet, Illinois, posted the sixth-best hitting percentage in the league at .331 and ranked 15th with 2.38 kills per set. She also made her presence felt from the service line with 15 aces, the seventh-most in the conference, while adding 16 blocks at the net.
Brandis, a senior from Taylorville, Illinois, directed the offense efficiently, finishing third in the conference with 177 assists over 30 sets.
The Lady Blues closed out the regular season with a 5-3 conference record, earning the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament. They'll face host Cornell College on Friday at 7:00 p.m. in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
