GRINNELL, Iowa – Illinois College's
Cam Dailey and
Timo Kato were both named Midwest Conference Football Performers of the Week, it was announced by the league today.
Daily was the recipient of the award on defense while Kato earned the honor for his play on special teams after the Blueboys' 44-14 victory over Ripon in the home opener on Saturday at England Stadium.
Daily, a junior linebacker from Oneonta, Ala., scored a touchdown on a 56-yard fumble recovery and led the IC defense with 10 total tackles on the day.
Kato, a freshman wide receiver from Niles, Ill., had a sparking 89-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and added a pair of solo tackles on special teams.
The Blueboys are off this weekend and will return to play on October 5th when they travel to Monmouth.
