Women’s Track & Field Has Strong Debut

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.
– The Illinois College women's track and field squad had a successful debut to the 2024-25 season as several Lady Blues posted personal bests at the Titan First Chance Meet at the Shirk Center Indoor Track on the campus of Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday.

IC crowned two champions on the day as Aleese Trimingham won the 60-meter hurdles in 9.43 seconds while Morgan Carrino broke the tape first in the 3,000 meters with a time of 12:13.18.

Deja Anderson took second in the long jump, recording a leap of 5.40 meters, which currently ranks her seventeenth in the nation. In addition, she tied her personal best in the 60 meters, clocking a 7.95. Fynesse Jones was fourth in the long jump and recorded a personal best of 5.21 meters.

Natalie Hasting led the way in weight throw, recording a mark of 14.32 meters, which is the second best mark in all of NCAA Division III for a first-year. Leslie Earles was third in the shot put, recording a toss of 11.79 meters while Lindsey Ruff was fourth with an 11.15 meter mark.

Maddie Benson took second in the pole vault, tied her personal best, and recorded the third-best mark in program history, clearing 3.25 meters. 

Brooke Oakley was fourth in the 300 meters with a time of 43.75.

The Lady Blues will be off throughout the holiday season and will be back in action on January 25th when they host the Snowbird Open.
