Collin Brunstein and Garrett Bearden Named Players to Watch For 2023 Football Season

JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- Looking ahead at the 2023 season, IC football student-athletes Collin Brunstein and Garrett Bearden have been named to the Preseason Football Watch List for the Midwest Conference.

Illinois College has been selected to finish fifth in this seasons Preseason Poll receiving 51 points. The team finished the 2022 season with a record of 5-4 overall and 4-4 in the MWC after putting together an amazing winning streak to end the season. The Blueboys picked up wins in their last four games outscoring their opponents 170-37.

IC returns multiple key contributors including All-Conference wide receiver Collin Brunstein and defensive lineman Garrett Bearden. Brunstein led the team last season with 733 yards receiving and nine touchdowns. He also led the MWC with 29.32 yards per catch. Bearden was the Blueboys season leader in sacks with six and led the team in tackles for loss with 13. He also led the team and the conference with three fumble recoveries. 

The Blueboys will start the 2023 season with their home opener hosting Millikin University on Saturday, 9/2 at 6:00 PM.
