MONMOUTH, Ill.- The Illinois College men's and women's track & field teams traveled to compete in the Fighting Scot Invite hosted by Monmouth College on Saturday. The team had multiple outstanding individual performances.
The Blueboys recorded three first-place finishes.
Kyle Little earned a win in the javelin throwing 50.42 meters.
Saul Hernandez placed first in the shot put with a mark of 13.92 meters.
Deon Rodgers also earned an event win in the discus with a mark of 41.0 meters.
The Lady Blues were led by
Brooke Oakley placing first in the 200-meter dash (26.25) and second in the 400-meter dash (1:01.30). Other significant finishers included
Kristina Hilmes placing second in the 100-meter hurdles (16.36) and 400-meter hurdles (1:09.36), and
Keyleigh Thomas placing second in the javelin with a mark of 31.83 meters.
The team will compete in the MWC Championship hosted by Grinnell College on Friday, May 12th, and Saturday, May 13th.
