TERRE HAUTE, Ind.- The Illinois College men's and women's track & field teams traveled to compete in the Rose-Hulman Twilight Meet on Friday night. The men's team placed seventh and the women's team placed fifth.
The Blueboys were led by
Saul Hernandez with a first-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 43' 11.25" (13.39 meters).
Max Beyers also earned a first-place finish in the pole vault after clearing a height of 13' 7.25" (4.15 meters). Other significant finishers included
Jack Douglas placing fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.16.
The Lady Blues were led by
Brooke Oakley placing second in the 200-meter dash (27.11) and the 400-meter dash (1:01.24). Other significant finishers included
Maddie Benson placing fourth in the 200-meter dash (27.48),
Kristina Hilmes placing fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (16.49), and
Paige Nowak placing fourth in the pole vault (9'8", 2.95 meters).
Both teams will look ahead to compete in the Drake Relays and the Millikin Quad Meet on Thursday, 4/27 and Friday, 4/28.
