GREENVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College men's and women's track and field teams traveled to compete in the Greenville Select Meet on Saturday. The men's team came away with a tie for fifth place and the women's team placed fourth overall.
The Blueboys were led by
Saul Hernandez placing second in the shot put with a mark of 43' 11.75" (13.40 meters). Other significant finishers included
Deon Rodgers placing third in the shot put (43' 11.75", 13.20 meters) and the discus (143' 3", 43.67 meters), and
Xander Moushon placing fourth in the hammer (141' 4", 43.08 meters).
On the women's side, the Lady Blues were led by
Kristina Hilmes placing third in the 400-meter hurldes with a time of 1:12.29. Other significant finishers included
Maddie Benson placing fourth in the pole vault (9' 5.25", 2.88 meters),
Nyasia Young placing fourth in the triple jump (35' 3", 10.74 meters),
Carson Beyers placing fourth in the javelin (93' 4", 28.44 meters), and the 4x100 meter relay team placing fourth (50.34).
Both teams will travel to compete in the Rose-Hulman Twilight Meet on Friday, 4/21 at 4:30 PM.
