ST. LOUIS, Mo.- The Illinois College Blueboys and Lady Blues track & field teams traveled with some of their distance runners to compete in the Wash U Distance Carnival.
The day was highlighted by a record-breaking performance from
Elgin Scherff in the 5k. Scherff finished 54th overall with a time of 16:07.87 to set the new school record in the event previously set in 1982.
Devin Boggs had a standout performance as well placing 34th in the 10k with a time of 35:00.51.
The Lady Blues had two competitors travel to the meet.
Claire Peters finished the 5k race with a time of 24:01.12.
Kairy Mercado-Ramos also competed in the 5k recording a time of 24:57.55.
Both teams will compete tomorrow at the Millikin Alumni Invite at 10:00 AM.
