JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College men's and women's track & field teams competed in the MWC Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend. Both teams finished sixth overall. The men's team finished with a team score of 55 and the women's team finished with a team score of 57.
The Blueboys were led by
Will Ross with a second-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.93 meters and a third-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 6.91 meters.
Jackson Lee had an impressive finish placing third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.27. Other significant finishers included
Saul Hernandez finishing third in the shot put (13.55 meter).
The Lady Blues were led by
Kylie Periman finished second in the high jump clearing a height of 1.66 meters.
Kristina Hilmes placed third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.89. The 4x200-meter relay team earned a third-place finish with a time of 1:49.00. Other significant finishers included
Paige Nowak placing third in the pole vault (3.18 meters) and
Nyasia Young placing second in the triple jump (10.74 meters).
The teams will look ahead to compete in a last chance meet for their final opportunity to qualify for the NCAA Indoor National Championships.
