JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College men's and women's track & field teams hosted the Hilltop Classic on Friday night. Both teams had an impressive night with multiple standout individual performances.
The Blueboys were led by two school record-breaking performances.
Will Detmer posted a new school record in the 800-meter run placing fourth overall with a time of 1:58.49.
Devin Boggs also made his mark on the record book with a new school record in the 3000-meter run placing sixth overall with a time of 9:19.27.
Will Ross was the other standout placing first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.71.
The Lady Blues were led by
Kylie Periman placing first in the high jump clearing a height of 5' 4.5" (1.64 meters). Other significant finishers included
Marissa Sifuentez-Lewis placing fourth in the 55-meter dash (7.62), and
Maddie Benson placing fourth in the pole vault (10' 0", 3.05 meters).
Both teams will look ahead to host the MWC Championships on Friday, 2/24, and Saturday, 2/25.
