MONMOUTH, Ill.- The Illinois College men's and women's track & field teams traveled to compete in the Roger Haynes Invitational hosted by Monmouth College this weekend. Both teams had some impressive individual performances.
The Blueboys were led by
Will Ross placing first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.59, and first in the long jump with a mark of 22' 3.0" (6.78 meters).
Will Detmer had an impressive day placing first in the mile with a time of 4:33.40.
Other significant finishers included Detmer placing second in the 800-meter run (2:02.17),
Caden Dettmer placing second in the mile (4:55.83), and
Jackson Lee tying for second in the pole vault (13' 1.5", 4.00 meters).
The Lady Blues were led by
Kylie Periman placing first in the high jump with a mark of 5' 4.25" (1.63 meters). The team's 4x200-meter relay team also placed first with a time of 1:48.94.
Other significant finishers included
Ashley Orrick placing second in the mile (5:42.48),
Kristina Hilmes placing second in the 60-meter hurdles (9.82), and
Paige Nowak tying for second in the pole vault (10' 2.5", 3.11 meters).
The teams will look ahead to host the Hilltop Classic on Friday, 2/17 at 5:00 PM.
