AURORA, Ill.- The Illinois College men's and women's track & field teams traveled to compete at the Aurora Grand Prix this weekend. Both the men's and women's teams had some spectacular individual performances.
The men competed on Friday and were led by
Devin Boggs finishing 23rd overall in the 5000-meter run with a time of 16:07.61. This is the new top mark in the IC record book for the event.
Will Detmer was also a standout finishing with the second-fastest time in school history in the mile (4:32.75) and the fourth-fastest time in school history in the 800-meter run (2:00.87).
Will Ross placed first in the triple jump with a mark of 47'8.5" (14.54 meters) and also ran the third fastest time in school history in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.53.
The Lady Blues competed on Saturday and were led by
Kylie Periman with a first-place finish in the high jump clearing a height of 5' 5.0" (1.65 meters).
Nyasia Young also had an impressive day placing sixth in the long jump (16' 6.0", 5.03 meters) and eighth in the triple jump (34' 4.75", 10.48 meters).
Both teams will look ahead to compete in their second home meet of the season at the Jim Green Invite on Saturday, 2/4 at 10:00 AM.
