GRINNELL, Iowa- The Midwest Conference (MWC) has released its 2022 MWC Preseason Coaches Poll for the sport of men's soccer. The Illinois College Blueboys have been selected to finish sixth receiving 28 points.
The Knox College Prairie Fire have been selected to win the league receiving 53 points and five first-place votes. Knox was last years league champion after defeating Cornell College 2-0 to claim the title.
Illinois College will look to improve on last year's season after finishing 10-7-1 overall and 3-5 in the MWC. The team was led by Head Coach
Evan Philpott matching their greatest win total in program history with 10 wins. The team returns both of their MWC All-Conference players
Tyler Schiltz and
Thomas Menke as they strive to make a run for the MWC title.
The Blueboys will start their season on the road facing Principia College on Thursday, 9/1 at 8:00 PM.
