BELOIT, Wis.- The Illinois College Lady Blues track & field team competed in the Midwest Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Beloit College this weekend. The Lady Blues finished fourth out of the nine teams with a final team score of 90.
IC was led by
Renee Hartman and
Elizabeth Bowns with strong performances in the throwing events. Hartman placed first overall in the shot put with a mark of 40-10.50 (12.46 meters). Bowns placed second in the hammer throw (151-4, 46.13 meters) and third in the shot put (40-3.50, 12.28 meters). Both Hartman and Bowns received All-Conference honors for their efforts.Â
Other All-Conference performances included
Maddie Benson placing third in the pole vault (10-2.0, 3.10 meters),
Kristina Hilmes placing second in the 100-meter hurdles (16.38), and the 4x100 meter relay team of
Bri Wallace,
Kayla Hearon, Hilmes, and
Lakeida Nichols placing third (49.57).
IC track & field will look ahead to compete in the North Central College Gregory Invite on Wednesday, 5/18 and Thursday, 5/19.Â
