LEBANON, Ill.- The Blueboys and Lady Blues track & field teams traveled up to the Bearcat Classic hosted by McKendree University. The women's team finished fourth out of the 14 teams with a final team score of 60. The men's team finished sixth out of 13 teams with a team score of 41.
The men's team was led by
Elgin Scherff placing third in the 5000 meter run with a time of 16:28.94.
Jackson Lee had an impressive day placing fourth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:07.82) and tying for fourth with teammate
Ian Cherry in the pole vault (11-5.75, 3.50 meters).
CJ Hanna rounded out the individual performances for the Blueboys with a fifth place finish in both the hammer throw (131-02, 39.98 meters) and the shot put (39-06, 12.04 meters).
The women's team was led by
Elizabeth Bowns earning a second place finish in the hammer throw (156-01, 47.57 meters) and a fifth place finish in the shot put (39-06, 12.04 meters).
Renee Hartman also earned a second place finish in the shot put (41-10.75, 12.77 meters) and the discus throw (118-11, 36.25 meters). Other significant finishers for the women included a fifth place finish by
Paige Nowak in the pole vault (9-08, 2.95 meters), a fourth place finish by
Sydney Kuper in the discus (120-00, 36,59), and a fifth place finish by
Kayla Hearon in the 200-meter dash (26.59).
Both teams will travel to compete on Friday, 4/15 at the Greenville University Invitational.
