JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues track & field team hosted the IC True Blue Open on Saturday. The team finished first overall out of five teams with a team score of 217.
The Lady Blues earned 17 top three finishes. In the running events,
Zoey Lewis was able to claim an event win in the 1500-meter run with a time of 5:35.65.
Kristina Hilmes earned first place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:09.57. The 4x100 meter relay team was also able to earn a victory with a time of 50.50.
In field events, IC was led by
Elizabeth Bowns with a first place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 152-7.0 (46.50 meters).
Renee Hartman followed that with a first place finish in the shot put with a mark of 40-1.25 (12.22 meters). Other first place finishers included
Maddie Benson in the pole vault (9-8.0, 2.95 meters) and
Jessie Hempen in the javelin (104-10, 31.95 meters).
The team will travel to compete at Monmouth College on Saturday, 5/7 at 11:00 AM.
