JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys earned a second place finish in the IC True Blue Open on Saturday with a final team score of 170.
IC recorded 14 top three finishes in the meet. In the running events, the team was led by
Will Detmer with a first place finish in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:26.92. Second place finishers included
Caleb Steber in the 400-meter dash (51.30),
Steven Melin in the 1500-meter run (4:33.85),
Elgin Scherff in the 3000-meter steeplechase (10:52.49), and the 4x100 meter relay team (43.73).
In the field events, the Blueboys were led by
Gavin Raines placing second in the high jump (6-3.25,1.91 meters) and the long jump (19-8.25, 6.00 meters).
Jackson Lee placed second in the pole vault clearing a height of 13-2.25 (4.02 meters).
The team will travel to compete at Monmouth College on Saturday, 5/7 at 11:00 AM.
