TERRE HAUTE, Ind.- The Illinois College Blueboys and Lady Blues track & field teams traveled to compete in the Twilight Meet hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. The women's team finished third out of the eight teams with a team score of 138. The men's team finished sixth with a team score of 58.
The Lady Blues earned five event wins in the meet.
Elizabeth Bowns placed first in both the shot put (11.48 meters) and hammer throw (45.79 meters).
Kristina Hilmes had an impressive showing placing first in both the 100-meter hurdles (16.12) and the 400-meter hurdles (1:08.54). IC's 4x100 meter relay team also earned a first place finish with a time of 49.98.
The mens team was led by
Will Ross placing first in both the long jump (6.76 meters) and the triple jump (14.09 meters).
Gavin Raines had an impressive performance placing second in the high jump with a mark of 1.90 meters. The Blueboys 4x100 meter relay team earned a third place finish with a time of 43.96.
The teams will look ahead to compete in the Drake Relays on Thursday, 4/28.
