GREENVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College men's and women's track & field teams traveled to compete in the Greenville College Select Meet. The Lady Blues finished fourth out of 14 teams with a score of 64.50. The Blueboys placed fifth out of 12 teams with a score of 41.
The women's team was led by
Elizabeth Bowns placing second in the shot put (40-9.50, 12.43 meters) and the hammer throw (144-09, 44.13 meters).
Kristina Hilmes represented the team in the running events with a second place finish in the 400-meter hurdles (1:09.16). Other significant finishers for the women included Madeline Benson placing fourth in the pole vault (9-4.25, 2.85 meters),
Renee Hartman placing fifth in the discus (112-07, 34.31 meters), and
Elizabeth Ruvalcaba placing fourth in the 5000 meter run (19:38.20).
The men's team was led by
Will Ross placing first in the long jump (22-3.0, 6.78 meters) and the triple jump (47-00.25, 14.33 meters). Other significant finishers for the men included
CJ Hanna placing fourth in the shot put (39-00.25, 11.89 meters), and
Ian Cherry placing fifth in the pole vault (13-3.50, 4.05 meters).
Both the men's and women's teams will travel to Terre Haute, Ind. to compete in the Rose-Hulman Twilight Meet on Friday, 4/22 at 4:00 PM.
