JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College men's and women's track & field teams hosted the Hilltop Classic on Friday night. Both teams had some outstanding individual performances.
The Lady Blues were led by
Renee Hartman earning a first place finish in the shot put with a mark of 12.29-meters. Hartman also earned a third place finish in the weight throw with a mark of 14.80-meters. Other significant finishes included
Elizabeth Bowns placing second in the shot put (12.14-meters) and the weight throw (15.93-meters).
Kristina Hilmes placed second in the 400-meter dash (1:04.53) and Madeline Benson finished fourth in the pole vault (3.11-meters).
The men's team was led by
Will Ross claiming first place in both the long jump (7.08-meters) and the triple jump (14.90-meters). Other significant finishers for the men included a fifth place finish by the 4x400-meter relay team (3:42.97), a sixth place finish by
Gavin Raines in the high jump (1.81-meters), and a seventh place finish by
Jackson Lee in the pole vault (3.17-meters).
Both the men's and women's team will compete in the Midwest Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday, 2/25- Saturday, 2/26.
