BOURBONNAIS, Ill.- The Illinois College men's and women's track & field teams began their season on the road traveling to compete in the ONU Holiday Invite. Both teams had some impressive individual performances.
The Blueboys recorded four top-three finishes in the meet.
Devin Boggs earned a first-place finish in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:29.87.
Will Ross earned a first-place finish with a mark of 48' 10.75" (14.9 meters) in the triple jump. Other significant finishers for the men included
Gavin Raines placing second in the high jump (5'11.25", 1.81 meters) and
Jackson Lee placing third in the pole vault (13' 3.5", 4.05 meters).
The Lady Blues finished the day with three top-three finishes.
Kylie Periman led the way with a first-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 5' 2.5" (1.59 meters). Other significant finishers for the women included
Ashley Orrick placing third in the 800-meter run (2:39.77) and
Leslie Earles with a third-place finish in the shot put (37' 3", 11.35 meters).
Both teams will return to action at home in the Snow Bird Invite on Saturday, 1/21 at 10:00 AM.
